To be eligible for a law scholarship, you must meet all the requirements of the company you are applying to. Each company or institute will have their stipulations posted on their website or on the application. Most companies or institutes will have some common stipulations. Yet, there may be others not mentioned here. Therefore, you must ensure you meet the stipulations as set out on the application.
Basic stipulations may include:
- Applicants must be under the age of 35
- You must be a citizen of South Africa
- You must hold a Grade 12 certificate
- Applicants must have exceptional academic records
- You must hold a diploma or degree in field of application
- Candidates must not be working full time
- Applicants must not hold or have had a similar scholarship previously
Many of the scholarships offered for study in another country requires selected candidates to return to South Africa upon completion of their studies. Applicants from a previously disadvantaged background and those with a disability are urged to apply. Applicants with a disability must provide a medical certificate. The medical certificate should indicate the nature of the disability.
The application process will depend on the company or institute offering it. Most companies in today’s modern age do offer online application processes. You must ensure that all your documentation is certified before submitting it. The application must be accompanied by all documentation, any recommendation letters and your updated curriculum vitae. It any documentation is missing, the application is incomplete or delivered late, it will not be considered.
